Gloom is lifting

Sun setting over nearby Lindisfarne Castle

Saturday 9th June comments: Just a quick update tonight, as the clouds are lifting, the strong wind has gone, the rain has stopped and hopefully (keeping everything crossed) the weather is settling. The previous forty-eight hours has been tough on the birds and the Farnes but hopefully we are coming out the otherside. The damage caused by the unseasonal storm will not be clear for a while yet, but I'm hoping we got away from the worst of it.

The Farnes will be open again tomorrow (Sunday) and hopefully everything will get back on with the business in hand. These seabirds have had it tough so far, but now it's time to have it easy. No more rain this summer thank-you.
