Thursday 7th June comments: We're at our busiest time of the year as the Farnes are in full swing (and the reason why blog updates are not as frequent!). The weather has been playing havoc with the visitor boats (nothing new this season), whilst the breeding seabird population counts continue (where nearly finished). However it's all about the birds and all species now have young so its full on - hungry mouths to feed so the adults are being kept busy! On the migrant front, our fourth Icterine Warbler of the year arrived today on Inner Farne, just to confirm that the spring has indeed been our best in over twenty years for scarce and rare migrants!
